Privacy Policy

The short version

• Your photos are analyzed in memory and immediately discarded. We never store, share, sell, or train on them.
• We keep the valuation result only (item name, category, value range), with no link to your identity.
• We collect basic, first-party analytics (pages viewed, device type). No third-party ad trackers.

Photos you submit

When you request a valuation, your photo is transmitted securely (HTTPS), resized in memory, and sent to our AI processing partners (Anthropic, and Google as a fallback) solely to identify and value your item. The photo is never written to our servers' disk or database, and is discarded as soon as the valuation completes. Our AI partners process the image under their API data-use terms, which prohibit using API content to train models by default.

Information we store

• Valuation records: the identified item name, category, estimated value range, and a random visitor token, used to power the anonymized "Recent Valuations" feed and enforce fair daily limits.
• Analytics: pages viewed, referrer, browser type, and whether the device is mobile. IP addresses are stored only as one-way salted hashes used for rate limiting, and cannot be reversed to identify you.
• Cookies: one first-party cookie (hmiw_vid) holding a random identifier for daily-limit enforcement. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

What we never do

• Sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
• Require an account, email, or any personal information to use the tool.
• Store your photos, ever.

Your choices
