About HowMuchIsItWorth.co
We built the tool we wished existed: ask "how much is it worth?", get a real answer.
The problem
Everyone has things they wonder about — the coin jar, the inherited watch, the cards from childhood, the lamp from the estate sale. Finding their real value meant hours of searching sold listings (if you knew what to search for), or paying an appraiser, or trusting an app that shows a scanning animation and then lets an AI guess a number.
That last part bothered us the most. AI language models are brilliant at identifying things, but they don't know today's market — their training data is months or years old, and they'll state a wrong price with total confidence. Tools built on bare AI guesses look magical and mislead people about real money decisions.
Our approach
We use AI for what it's genuinely great at — identifying exactly what's in your photo — and then we do what a professional reseller would do: research the live market. Our engine searches recent sold listings and auction results for your specific item and builds the value range from actual transactions. You see the comps. You see our confidence level. You can verify everything.
Principles we won't compromise
- Honest values, even when they disappoint. If your item is worth $4, we say $4.
- Sources shown. A value you can't verify is just an opinion.
- Confidence stated. "We're not sure" is a valid answer, and we give it when it's true.
- Privacy by design. Photos are analyzed and discarded — never stored, shared, or trained on.
- No conflicts of interest. We don't buy items, broker sales, or take commissions, so we have zero incentive to skew values in any direction.
- No fake social proof. Every number and example on this site is real or clearly labeled as a sample.
